Indian army rescued a group of Bakarwals consisting of four children and three adults who were stranded due to a snow storm for the past 2 days near Chhut Pass in Jammu & Kashmir. Army soldiers from Sangam base noticed the stranded group and approached them. It was learnt they the group had lost most of their livestock and their makeshift tent was wrecked by strong winds, consequently leaving them with no food.
The death toll from Afghanistan earthquake has hit 1,000, as per the disaster management officials said. A tragedy was averted on Saturday at the Bhatapara railway station in Chhattisgarh.
