In a major relief to scores of candidates, Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Thursday postponed the written examination for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) which was scheduled to be held this Sunday (August 21).

A video purportedly showing a verbal duel between two women inside Delhi Metro train has gone viral on social media.The 23-second video clip shows two women arguing with each other as one of them ‘reserves extra seat by placing bag’.The video was shared by a Twitter handle in the name of @Wellutwt.

These images are from a High School in Kasimpur area of Bhadrak, Odisha. Students had come to school wading through knee-deep water. The whole school submerged in water, students could hardly enter their classrooms.

With the flood situation in the State changing, all erys are on what lies ahead. The Special Relief Commissioner of the State, Pradeep Jena briefed media with the latest update on the flood situation in Odisha. 

As Odisha grapples with flood, Puri district has been among the worst hit districts. The district collector today conducted and on-field visit to take stock of the flood situation in affected areas.

In a press release, the IMD said a fresh spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over east-central India from the night of 18th August. The weather bureau has also predicted that under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over south Myanmar and neighbourhood, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal around 19th August.

The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 16) announced that it has decided to suspend the All India Football Federation (AIFF) with immediate effect. As per official reports, FIFA took the decision after "undue influence from third parties, which constitutes a severe violation of the FIFA statutes."
