Thursday is the last day of the police custody of Ashish Mishra and a huge police presence was seen at the crime scene.

The application was moved on Tuesday and will be taken up by the CJM court on October 18.

The accused include her father, Samajwadi Party (SP) district president Tilak Yadav, SP city president Rajesh Jain Jojhiya, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) district president Deepak Ahirwar and others.

The Lakhimpur Kheri police have also arrested Shekhar Bharti, the driver of Ankit Das, whose vehicle was in the convoy that mowed down nine persons, including four farmers on October 3.

Senior police officers did not disclose the names of the accused saying they had not been arrested and are being questioned.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday (October 8) celebrated its raising day. This year marks 89 years of IAF's foundation. Celebrations took place at the Hindon Air Force Station in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad in the presence of the Chief of Air Staff VR Chaudhari and chief of other two services (Navy and Army).

All three stalwarts belong to the Jat community which is predominantly leading the farmers' agitation against three farm laws enacted by the Centre last year.

"According to rules, the government has to calculate and notify the re-reimbursement amount every year on September 30 but this has not been done."

Solanki's demand came amid a controversy over the allotment of a room for offering namaz in the Jharkhand Assembly building by the Speaker, with the BJP protesting against the move.
