Schools reopen after pollution break in Delhi
After an 18-month hiatus, the offline classes for Class 11 students in Odisha resumed on Thursday (October 21). The students have been asked to follow SOPs while the administration is taking all necessary steps to facilitate their classes.
Schools across the country and in Odisha have been shut barring for students of certain classes. However, on Thursday (October 14), the Odisha School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Das hinted at the likelihood of schools reopening for all after Puja Holidays.
A separate isolation room has been marked in all the schools and kept ready. The room will be used in case any student or staff develops Covid symptoms.
Children can handle the viral infection much better than adults since they have lower number of receptors where the virus attaches. Therefore, when India thinks of reopening schools, it will be wise to open primary schools first.
