While Kharge garnered 7897 votes, his contender Shashi Tharoor got about 1000 votes and 416 votes got rejected.
The voting would take place at the AICC headquarters in Delhi and at 67 polling booths across the country in an electoral contest that is taking place for the sixth time in the party's 137-year history.
The court observed that Pushkar might have felt distressed or mentally disturbed with the alleged extra-marital relation of the accused, but mental disturbance does not constitute the offence of abetment.
Pushkar was found dead on the evening of January 17, 2014. Initially, Delhi police investigated the same as a murder and charged Tharoor under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 498A (cruelty by husband).
