Prasanna Pattsani said he has no regret for not being elected by the party and added that he would not lobby for the Rajya Sabha nomination.

"The Commission has decided to hold six bye-elections to the Council of States -- Tamil Nadu, Assam, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Puducherry and Madhya Pradesh -- to fill up the vacancies," said a statement from the EC.

The Union ministers in particular criticised the Congress, Trinamool Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for demeaning the parliamentary procedure.
