The letter has been sent to the Shree Rajput Karni Sena. The move comes after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) by Shree Rajput Karni Sena, through Advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra.

Akshay Kumar says, "Rarely do films take this much effort and embark upon such monumental tasks. Every element of our film which is based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan has been dealt with utmost sincerity, authenticity and reverence.

Akshay expressed his disappointment as the history books today have just one paragraph about the mighty emperor that barely describes the rich valour of the Indian King.

The petition sought a ban on the release of the movie, alleging it was presenting a 'wrong and vulgar' picture of Prithviraj, a Hindu emperor, and hence it hurt sentiments.

"I have given my heart, soul and tears to this film and I hope that people will like my effort in playing such an iconic real life legend on the big screen."
