PM Modi on Sunday flagged off the first-ever torch relay for the 44th Chess Olympiad which is to be held in Mahabalipuram from July 28 to August 10.
During the Programme, the PM also laid the foundation stone for 832-bedded Bagchi Parthasarathy Multispeciality Hospital.
Before reaching the stage, the Prime Minister took a tour of the venue in an open jeep, warmly greeting the large gathering present there.
He underlined the importance of the moment when after five centuries and even 75 years after Independence, sacred flag was hoisted on the temple.
