The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha on Saturday appointed senior observers for all 30 districts, apparently signalling its preparations for the three-tier panchayat polls in the State. The party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appointed six party veterans as senior observers.
The Panchayat elections are slated to be held in February 2022. However, as the State government is yet to complete the delimitation process and determine reservation of seats, it is feared that the election process may get delayed.
