Of the total 4,033 cases of Omicron variant, 1,552 have recovered or migrated.
Odisha government on Sunday informed that around 97% of COVID patients in the State are not needing hospitalization. Of the total 16117 active positive cases, 15640 are being treated in home isolation which means as many as 477 patients are under treatment at various hospitals in the State.
Currently, the new variant of COVID19 is spreading its tentacles across the country including Odisha which has become a reason of concern for all.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta said the preventive measure was taken to curb the spread of the virus due to gatherings in religious places.
The State on Saturday registered 3,679 new positive cases. Of them, 1,223 are from Khurda alone, which is in Red Zone. Sundargarh, which is in Yellow Zone, reported 582 fresh cases and Sambalpur and Cuttack added 372 and 310 cases, respectively.

With the detection of the new cases today, the total number of Omicron cases in the State jumped to 75.
