Odisha on Saturday reported 14 more cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, informed the State Health Department.

With the detection of the new cases today, the total number of Omicron cases in the State jumped to 75.

Earlier on Wednesday, 24 more cases of Omicron were detected in the State of which 5 positives had foreign travel history while 19 others were local contacts.

On the other hand, 30 students of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday. 

To contain further spread of the virus, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) soon declared a hostel at the institute as micro-containment zone.
