A class 10 student along with his mother made a joint bid to end life by self-immolation outside the residence of the School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Dash in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday after the boy was allegedly denied to fill forms for appearing offline standard 10 exams.
The BSE had not declared the results of the 139 students following which a petition was filed in the OHRC by right activist Manoj Jena.
The offline Matric exams will be conducted between July 30 and August 5, 2021, stated Odisha School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash on Friday (July 2).
With massive protests erupting in Odisha allegedly over faulty evaluation of Class 10 matric results, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in a press meet on Tuesday (June 29) clarified that students dissatisfied with their marks can apply for offline exams.
