With the onset of Panchayat polls in Odisha, the three major parties in in the State gear up to woe voters to win seats in the elections.

The Panchayat polls which has been delayed in Odisha will be conducted on the scheduled date, informed State Panchayatiraj Minister Pratap Jena on Tuesday.

The Odisha unit of the Pradesh Congress Committee has announced a high-level party panel for preparation of spadework in view of the rural and local urban body elections scheduled to be held in the State next year.

The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha on Saturday appointed senior observers for all 30 districts, apparently signalling its preparations for the three-tier panchayat polls in the State. The party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appointed six party veterans as senior observers.
