It is pertinent to mention here that this is the largest in-person get-together on the occasion of Nuakhai, anywhere outside India.
Earlier, the State government had also announced that the banks will remain closed on September 1 on the occasion of Nuakhai festival.
In the Odisha government's holiday list, only the day of the festival is mentioned as the holiday.
