Group clash erupts as dead body's entry to village opposed in view of Nuakhai festival

Bhawanipatna: A clash broke out between two groups of Tulapada village under Narla block in Kalahandi district on Thursday after one of the groups protested the entry of a dead body to the village due to the on-going preparations for the Nuakhai festival.

According to sources, a man of the village who was working as a bonded labourer in Gujarat, died few days ago and was brought to his village today.

However, a group of the villagers opposed the body of the labourer in view of the on-going preparations for the Nuakhai festival scheduled to begin tomorrow.

Following the incident, an altercation broke out and later it intensified into a clash between the two groups.
