The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought a response from the Centre, asking why only 19 women candidates will be admitted in the National Defence Academy (NDA) out of 400 seats in 2023.

The Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said necessary infrastructure and facilities for the training of the women candidates are in place at the academy.

Passing Out Parade for autumn term was held at the National Defence Academy in Pune, Maharashtra today. Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane reviewed the Passing Out Parade at the academy.

In his speech, the army chief also appealed the cadets to keep abreast with new technology to counter the contemporary challenges.

Women will be allowed to take National Defence Academy (NDA) examination scheduled for September 5.
