The services of the Coast Guard air station at Ratnagiri are also being extended to Indian Navy and Indian Air Force aircraft for airlifting of NDRF teams, relief material and facilitating rescue operations across the affected regions.
As many as 41 bodies have been recovered at Taliye village in Raigad where a landslide struck on Thursday. Several others are still missing, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Konkan) Sanjay Mohite told.
In all these incidents, an estimated 70-80 persons are still feared trapped in the debris and rubble with the NDRF, Army, Navy and local teams attempting to save them as rains continued to lash the region.
In other incidents, at least 30 persons were killed in different landslides or hillslides in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Satara and over 50 others still feared trapped in these districts that have witnessed heavy floods and waterlogging after heavy rains in the past 48 hours.
