She said she was travelling in a single-vehicle with four other persons, two local Congress workers and Deepender Hooda and Sandeep Singh. There was no security car or no other Congress workers there, she said.
Party sources said that Rahul would also meet sister Priyanka who has been kept at the PAC guest house in Sitapur since Monday.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was taken into police custody early on Monday morning in the Hargaon area in Sitapur while she was on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet families of the deceased farmers.
The administration also agreed to file a case under the Indian Penal Code's Section 120 (conspiracy), while a retired high court judge will probe Sunday's violence.
The body of a local journalist Raman Kashyap, who had been missing after Sunday's violence, was found in the mortuary on Monday, taking the death toll to nine, including four farmers.
UPCC president Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the arrest of Priyanka proved again that there was no democracy left in the political system.
