As per reports an IT team from Bhubaneswar has been searching places linked to Pradhan including his residence at Bhapur, his construction firm (Swayam Sadashiv Constructions) at Fatehgarh and a stone crushing unit at Nimani for the last three days.

One of the companies utilised the services of another entity located in India but did not comply with the provisions of tax deduction. The quantum of liability of TDS on this account could be around Rs 300 crore.

Transactions evidencing undisclosed income of more than Rs 150 crore have been detected, said the policy-making body for the Income Tax Department.

Some photographs of the alleged raids going viral on various social media platforms showed stacks of cash stuffed in large wardrobes at the residential premises of Jain in Kanpur. Jain runs the perfume-manufacturing units also in Kannauj district, neighbouring Kanpur.

A tangential reference to the Sood Charity Foundation being targeted by the IT Department Sonu Sood stated a philosophical statement ending poetically.

Sood shot into limelight last year (2020) for arranging free flights or luxury buses for stranded migrants during the lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic and sent them to different parts of India.

The searches in case of Dainik Bhaskar are being conducted in Bhopal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Noida and some other locations in the country.
