Out of the nine satellites that will be carried by the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C54), EOS-6 will be the primary passenger while the others are piggybacks.

Skyroot Aerospace etched its name in the annals of Indian space history by becoming the first domestic private company to develop and fly a rocket.

Vikram-S makes history as the first private rocket of India to grace the skies. The rocket blasted off into suborbital space from the spaceport of Indian Space Research Organisation at Sriharikota.

After the separation of 16 satellites, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S.Somanath said: "The satellite separation is a slow process. The remaining satellites will be separated and the data will come later."

During the countdown, the rocket and satellite systems will be checked. The fuel for the rocket will also be filled.

OneWeb is a joint venture between India's Bharti Global and the UK government.
