Intellectuals in Odisha express concern over unresolved social and economic issues during elections, citing widespread unemployment, rising costs, and environmental degradation
The fielding of Yasir Nawaz by Congress as Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha candidate and the expulsion of senior Congress leader and Jatani MLA Suresh Routray may turn the BJD’s apple cart in the constituency.

BJD supremo and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik will also be contesting from two Assembly seats- Hinjili and Kantabanji.
Speculations suggest that Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik might run from Kantabanji in the 2024 elections to strengthen BJD's position against BJP and Congress, especially in key districts like Bolangir and Kalahandi.
BJP National Vice President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant Panda held discussions with party workers in his constituency and shared the mantra of success and laid emphasis on organisation.
Rajasthan has topped the ECI’s seizure list, while Odisha’s position is 15th.
