President Droupadi Murmu flagged off Agartala-Khongsang Janshatabdi Express and Agartala-Kolkata Express from Agartala Railway station today. The trains connecting Tripura with Assam, West Bengal and Manipur will boost connectivity and tourism in the North East region.
The book ‘Droupadi Murmu-Odia Asmitara Pratika’ (Droupadi Murmu- A symbol of Odia pride)’ has been authored by Tejaswini Panda.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended greetings on the occasion.

President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday asked IAS officers of the country to reach out to the underprivileged and improve their living conditions.
Records show that since 1977, successive presidents have taken oath on July 25.
Murmu, the former Jharkhand governor, had recently visited the state to seek support for her candidature.
The presidential elections are scheduled for July 18
