An Odia book on the life and journey of the first tribal President of India, Droupadi Murmu was launched at a book fair in Bhubaneswar recently.

The book ‘Droupadi Murmu-Odia Asmitara Pratika’ (Droupadi Murmu- A symbol of Odia pride)’ has been authored by Tejaswini Panda. The book was launched at Time Pass book fair on September 25.

Speaking on the book launch ceremony, Tejaswini said that the youth of the country should adopt Droupadi Murmu as their role model.

“My mother inspired me to write the book on President Droupadi Murmu. We all need to know the glorious journey of Droupadi Murmu from Rairangpur, which once did not have electricity connection, to Raisina Hills,” said the author.

Veteran BJP leader and daughter of Odisha soil, Droupadi Murmu took oath as the 15th President of India on July 25.

The 64-year-old leader is the first tribal woman to be the President of India.

Senior journalist Sandeep Sahu will write a comprehensive biography of President Draupadi Murmu. Titled ‘Madam President: A Biography of Draupadi Murmu’, the book is poised to open a window to the life of India’s first woman tribal President and is slated for release towards end of 2022.
