Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday extended greetings on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Modi shared a shloka in Sanskrit as he extended wishes to the nation.

Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote, “Best wishes on Ganesh Chaturthi. May the blessings of Lord Shri Ganesh always remain upon us.”

He added, "Michhami Dukkadam! Samvatsari emphasises on forgiveness. May there be no ill-feelings towards anyone. May the spirit of kindness and brotherhood always prevail."

Similarly, President Droupadi Murmu also prayed for peace and prosperity in the lives of the citizens.

“Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on Ganesh Chaturthi. Mangalmurti Lord Ganesha is a symbol of knowledge, accomplishment and good fortune. I wish that with the blessings of Shri Ganesh, there should be a spread of happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone’s life,” the President tweeted.

Moreover, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended greetings on the occasion.

“Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all the countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya!” he tweeted.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar also greeted people on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

"Warm greetings of #GaneshChaturthi to all. Celebrated with much enthusiasm, the festival represents India's composite culture, transcending the boundaries of caste, creed, religion or region. Today, I pray to #LordGanesh for the good health, happiness and prosperity of all," the Vice-President tweeted.
