Odisha Government has declared Black Fungus infection as a Notifiable Disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. The infection is caused by exposure to mucor mould and it affects the sinuses, the brain and the lungs and can be life-threatening.
A 71-year-old man from Jajpur presently residing in Bhubaneswar has been infected with Black Fungus.
