It is after a gap of two years that Bali Yatra 2022 will be organised in a grand manner as the annual event was cancelled owing to the Covid-19 restrictions.
The Millenium City Cuttack is all geared up to host annual historic trade fair Bali Yatra starting November 8. For the first time, a special laser light show will be held during the 9-day long extravaganza. This year’s Bali Yatra will see a unique Guinness Book of World Records as a record number of paper boats will be prepared within minutes.
CMC Commissioner said that the basic idea was to ensure that Bali Yatra doesn’t get limited to a source of entertainment only and by involving students and others in the record attempt.

Last year, UNESCO added Durga Puja and the world-famous Kumbha Mela, on the intangible cultural heritage representative list.
It will be after a gap of two years that Bali Yatra will be organised in the millennium city that draws lakhs of visitors. It is one of the major events which sees business worth crores in a week’s time.
Bhubaeswar DCP, Umashankar Dash said, “Keeping in view the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) for the month of November, no permission has been granted to the Bali Yatra organisors here.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the administration had also shunned the maritime festival in 2020, owing to the pandemic situation across the State.
