Former President of Odisha BJP, Samir Mohanty wrote a letter to Odisha DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi in this regard.

DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi said that a total of 35,000 State police and Paramilitary security personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order during the third phase of the polling process to be conducted in six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly segments under 12 police districts. 

Ahead of the second phase of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conducted a roadshow in Bhubaneswar and campaigned for the BJD candidates.

The Election Commission of India is set to implement an 'early action formula' during the next four phases of the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. This includes heightened security, monitoring of influential politicians, and preventive detentions to ensure fair and peaceful polling.

As per many political experts, the parties have not yet announced the names of some of their candidates as they are playing a wait-and-watch game to score strategic supremacy over others.

The first phase of voting began today on 102 seats across 21 states and UTs and 92 Assembly Constituencies in the state assembly elections in Arunachal

Kulesika alleged that the BJD has been selling tickets for Assembly seats. He further said that the ruling party also tried to ‘buy’ him by paying Rs 1 crore. He also alleged mining lobby in the region.

Out of the total 147 Assembly constituencies, the saffron party has announced the names of 112 candidates.

The actor-turned-political today resigned from the primary membership of BJD. Mohanty has submitted his resignation to party president and CM Naveen Patnaik.

"I hereby tender my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress," read Biswal's resignation letter.

In a video statement, the actor-turned-politician said, "Today after listening to my inner voice, for self-respect and the respect of Korei residents, I have decided to quit BJD."

Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan among others attended the Core Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of BJP National President JP Nadda. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present.

The senior BJP leader neither categorically ruled out nor gave a clear answer when she was asked by the media regarding the ongoing buzz about the BJD-BJP alliance ahead of the crucial 2024 elections in Odisha.

The Odisha government plans to revamp Barabati Stadium into a world-class sports complex with all modern facilities. A budget of around Rs 700 crore has been earmarked for the mega project.
