Chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) Sandhyabati Pradhan said that financial issues may be the reason behind the discontinuation of 'Ashirbad' for COVID Orphans.
The scheme was formally rolled out by the State government in June this year for education, health and maintenance of children who lost both parents/primary bread earner parent during the Covid pandemic.
