Amid the unabated violence in Afghanistan, at least 50 Taliban militants surrendered in the country's northern province of Jawzjan as fighting raged in the region, a Defence Ministry official said on Thursday.
On Friday, 226 Taliban insurgents were killed during the security operations. The Ministry of Defence said the deaths were reported in Kunar, Paktia, Maidan Wardak, Kandahar, Herat, Jawzjan, Helmand, Baghlan and Kabul.
