Protesting against the party nominating Smrutirekha Pahi for Dharmasala Assembly seat, supporters of BJP leader Himanshu Sekhar Sahu demanded the ticket for him.

Veteran Congress leader and Jatani MLA Suresh Routray denied allegations of him campaigning for his son who is a BJD candidate for Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat.

For the last few days, many ticket aspirants have been camping in Bhubaneswar because they fear the mathematics may go against them in their absence.  

Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Kerala together account for 204 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha but the BJP couldn't cross 50 seats in all these states put together either in 2014 or 2019 when it won 29 and 47 constituencies respectively.

The high court directed that Ray's conviction in the case shall stand stayed during the pendency of his appeal against his conviction and sentence by the trial court.

Political parties across the country wooed them ardently and top stars of the time, including Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Prada, Govinda, Raj Babbar and Jaya Bachchan braved the heat and dust to campaign for their political parties.

Even though there are many aspirants for the the Kendrapara Assembly seat , word is doing the rounds that the party may field a turncoat leader.

These days, Jatani MLA Suresh Routray is seen campaigning for his younger son Manmath Routray, a BJD candidate for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat, leaving Congress workers confused.

The Biju Janta Dal (BJD) turncoat Akash Das Nayak has been nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while the BJD and the Congress are still brainstorming to find their best candidates for the seat. 

For Bolangir Sadar Assembly seat, Congress leader Narasingha Mishra's son Samarendra Mishra and BJD leader Ananga Udaya Singh Deo’s son Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo are locking horns on Congress and BJD tickets respectively. 

Alleging government employees are working for BJD's party programmes, the state unit of BJP moved the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), demanding action.
