Two BJP groups clash during party's ‘Bandhu Milana’ in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A clash between two BJP groups was reported during the party's ‘Bandhu Milana’ programme organised at the Nua Bazar Mandap here on Friday.

As per reports, some followers of BJP leader Pradeep Nayak allegedly attacked the supporters of Tushar Jena, another saffron leader in the district after Nayak's supporters were not invited to the function.

Nayak's supporters also stopped Jena's vehicle and raised slogans against him.

In a similar incident in December, a scuffle had broke out between two groups leading to a violent clash during BJP’s ‘Mishran Parva’ at Singitia Sindhibata in Kendrapara district.

The venue of the programme had then turned into a battleground after some BJP workers were attacked with sticks allegedly by the supporters of senior party leader Bijoy Mohapatra.

Later, Patkura Police had to deploy two platoons of force at the spot to bring situation under control.
