Puri: The Sri Jagannath Temple administration on Monday issued show cause notice to two servitors of Daitapati Niyog for 'indiscipline' and delay in rituals of Bahuda Yatra, the return journey of the Trinity.

Niyog president Ramakrushana Das Mohapatra and secretary Premananda Das Mohapatra have been asked by the temple administration to reply within seven days of the notification. Both of them may be suspended if they failed to give satisfactory answers, temple administration sources said. Such notification has been issued under the Sri Jagannath Temple Act 1955, it added.

Sources said, Ramakrushna had a verbal dwell with temple chief administrator Aravind Padhee on Bahuda Yatra day when the latter prevented some non-servitors to climb the chariots. The Niyog president also allegedly clashed with the on-duty security officials. Similarly, secretary Premananda allegedly delayed the rituals of the deities before Pahandi for Bahuda Yatra.
