Bhubaneswar: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in its report stated that as many as seven state-government controlled public sector undertakings (PSUs) incurred a loss of Rs1009.73 crore during 2011-12.

The report, which was presented in state Assembly on Monday further noted bulk power supplier Gridco incurred heaviest loss to the tune of Rs 936.81 crore during the year ending March 31, 2012.  The other companies which suffered loss include Idcol Iron Works and Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL).

The CAG however noted that of the 36 working PSUs in the state, 23 have earned profit of Rs 2305.81 crore and the major contributors are Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) and Odisha State Beverage Corporation (OSBC).

During the period, among other profit makers OMC has reported the highest profit of Rs 1880 crore, the report said.
