Rainfall To Increase In Odisha From July 24

Bhubaneswar: Farmers across Odisha are facing a hard time as inadequate rainfall has majorly affected farming in many areas leading to a drought-like situation.

However, as per the Regional Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar, the current situation may change in next 2 to 3 days as rainfall is expected to increase from July 24 due to a predicted low pressure formation.

This year, there has been 29 per cent less rainfall than normal. By the end of August, the deficit rainfall is expected to be compensated, informed Met office sources.

Duty Officer of Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, Jivan Baske, said, “Rainfall is expected to increase from July 24. Light to moderate thunderstorm along with rainfall is expected in next 24 hours in the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh and Kandhamal.”
