Bhubaneswar: Rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places in Odisha during next 24 hours as the depression over southeast Bay of Bengal moved slightly northwards and intensified into a deep depression, Met department said.
The depression lay centred about 1730 km south-southeast of Paradeep and 400 km south-southwest of Car Nicobar. The system would intensify into a cyclonic storm during next 24 hours, weathermen predicted. It would move initially north-westwards during next 48 hours and re-curve thereafter northeastwards towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coast.
Distant Cautionary signal number one (DC-I) are kept hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports.
