Bhubaneswar: Senior leader and BJP national vice president Baijayant Jay Panda has sought diplomatic intervention for repatriation of 15 labourers of Aul and Pattamundai areas of Kendrapara district who are stranded in Kuwait.

In a letter, Panda has requested K. Jeeva Sagar, Ambassador of India to Kuwait to take necessary measures to rescue the labourers who are 'living on the streets and struggling to survive in Kuwait.'

As per reports, one Sanjiv Kumar Mallick of Malipur village of Pattamundai along with 14 others had left for Kuwait on August 8, 2018 after they were promised better jobs and salary.

On the request of Sanjiv’s father Ratnakar Mallick, the former Kendrapara MP has urged the senior diplomat to take appropriate measures to rescue the stranded labourers who were denied leave and allegedly harassed by their employer in Kuwait.
