Kendrapara: As many as 12 youths from Aul, Rajkanika and Rajnagar areas of Kendrapara district have been duped of Rs 7 lakh by a man from Rajkanika area.

As per reports, the accused identified as Biswajit Swain, had allegedly taken  Rs 60,000 from every individual on the pretext of providing a job in Kuwait. Swain had even made passports, visas and flight tickets for them which later turned out to be fake. Subsequently, all the victims lodged a complaint against Swain at Rajkanika police station.

"He had given us offer letter, visa and flight ticket but after inspection we found that they were fake. He is not receiving our calls. We have registered a complaint in this regard," said Balaram Pradhan, a resident of Aul.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and launched an investigation. "Some people from Rajkanika have lodged a complaint alleging that they were duped by a man. The accused had assured them to provide job in Kuwait. We have lodged a complaint and initiated an investigation," IIC of Rajkanika police station Bijay Kumar Mallick said.
