Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha sounded the poll bugle in earnest today by promising a slew of welfare measures for the people of Odisha during party’s ‘Pratisruti Samabesh’ held in Bhubaneswar. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the party will provide permanent land records (pattas), jobs to youths and pucca houses while urging people to vote for the party in the upcoming polls.

“PM Narendra Modi has done a lot of things for the poor in the country in the past 5 years. BJP will provide necessary facilities including pattas, pucca houses, drinking water, toilets, electricity and LPG connections among others to people in Odisha,” said Pradhan.

In a series of tweet, Pradhan also targeted Odisha government for failing to provide basic amenities to the people of the State in the past 19 years.

“We will fulfil the dream of PM Narendra Modi if BJP is voted to power in Odisha. We assure that every poor across the country as well as in Odisha will get permanent land record and pucca house,” tweeted Pradhan.

BJD leader Sameer Dash on other hand termed BJP’s assurances mere ‘political stunts.’

“People in the country as well as in Odisha have realised that BJP under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has completely failed to keep its promises made in 2014,” said Dash.

AICC president Rahul Gandhi during his Odisha visit on February 6 had launched the ‘Guarantees Cards’ for farmers, women and youths in Odisha.

Through its campaign - ‘Congress Ra Guarantee, Hasiba Odisha Mati,’ the party has assured to provide jobs to one member from each family, financial assistance for higher education & girl child marriage, farm loan waiver among others.
