Bhubaneswar: Accusing the Odisha Congress leadership of neglecting women members, the party’s State spokesperson Sonali Sahu today quit the party.

Despite being active in Congress for long time, Sonali alleged that the leadership of the party ignored her and no party post was offered to her. She further stated that there is no democracy in Odisha Congress.

“I was forced by top leaders to resign. Though PCC president Niranjan heads the party, but his son Nabajyoti Patnaik is calling the shots. There have been massive irregularities in ticket allotments and both Niranjan and opposition leader Narasingha Mishra are responsible for irregularities in ticket allotments,” said Sonali.

Denying the charges, Bhubaneswar district Congress Committee president Manas Choudhury said “There will be no impact if anyone quits Congress. The leaders, who have quit Congress, were only in the party to fulfil thier own interests and aspirations."
