Naib Sarpanch among 4 injured in group clash in Paradip

Paradip: Four persons including the Naib Sarpanch were injured during a group clash over suspected political enmity in Saharadia village under Kujang Police limits in Paradip last night.

As per reports, some drama artistes and the villagers of Saharadia including Naib Sarpanch Naresh Pradhan had gone to meet the family of a young artiste. But all of a sudden family members of the artiste attacked the visitors nearby his house injuring the four persons including the Naib Sarpanch.

The injured were admitted to the Government hospital in Kujang for treatment. As the Naib Sarpanch was in critical condition, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Sources said that the young artiste had earlier caused ruckus and damaged the property of the drama company over unknown reasons. Following this, artistes of the drama company met the villagers and the Naib Sarpanch to resolve the issue. Later, they were on their way to meet the family of the artiste when the attack took place.

Meanwhile, Kujang police have begun probe into the incident after a complaint was lodged.
