Miscreants vandalise Saheed Nagar Police Station, thrash policemen

Bhubaneswar: At least four police personnel including the IIC and ASI of Saheed Nagar police station here sustained injuries after they were allegedly attacked by a group of miscreants late on Sunday night.

As per reports, the miscreants had gone to the Saheed Nagar PS to lodge a complaint but instead, they started beating up the on-duty police personnel and also vandalised the station.

ASI Abhaya Kumar Rout, who sustained severe head injury in the attack, said that the miscreants threw flower pots and pelted stones at the police personnel present at the PS. "I sustained head injuries during stone-pelting by the group of miscreants. CCTV footages will be used to identify them," said Rout.

"All the miscreants have been identified based on probe initiated by us and after verifying the CCTV footages. These kind of activities won't be tolerated. Stringent action will be taken against all accused," says Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty.
