Keonjhar/Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held dharna before the office of the Keonjhar collector demanding immediate arrest of Barbil tehsildar for his alleged role in frisking away two trucks over loaded with iron-ore from the weigh bridge at Lahanda. Meanwhile, mines minister has stated that proceedings have already been initiated against the persons found guilty in the case. The minister issued the statement today following the ruling of the Speaker in the assembly in connection with the incident.

The BJP workers staging dharna alleged that the tehsildar played a big role in frisking away the two trucks from the Lahanda weigh bridge on the night of February 25. They demanded that the tehsildar should be arested soon as he was also instrumental behind the mysterious missing of the footages captured by the CCTV system placed in the weigh bridge.

In another development, the Speaker today gave his ruling on the issue in the assembly. The mines minister Raghunath Mohanty announced that proceedings have already been initiated against the persons involved in the incident.
