Bolangir: Irregularities detected in supply of dal did cost Pramilla Maik her ministership. But the problem continues still. For, insects have yet again been detected in dal supplied to the anganwadi at Kutenpali village under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS).

The Sonepur CDPO has already started investigations into the incident after villagers complained about children being compelled to eat insect ridden dal in the anaganwadi. The children of the anganwadi complained after eating the stuff for three days and then the villagers and guardians of the children of the anganwadi started opposing the irregularities. Mathura Sandh, serving as an assistant in the Kutenpalli anganwadi, even admitted that the substandard dal was cooked in the anaganwadi.

There are 46 children, including girls, in the Kutenpalli anganwadi under Puintala block. The anaganwadi centre received assistance under the ICDS. However, villagers have alleged that the children were being fed poor quality dal and stinking vegetables. The villagers have demanded strong action against the persons responsible for the irregularities. However, the CDPO of Puintala block, Bharati Patel, has assured that stringent action would be taken against the guilty after thorough probe.
