Keonjhar: The dead bodies of three boys, who went missing in river Baitarani here at Anandpur on Monday, were recovered today.They were identified as Sipun Nath, Papun Nath and Papun Pagal of Atta village near Anandpur.
 
At least eight boys went missing in the river during an immersion festival yesterday. However, four of them were rescued by the fire brigade team and one dead body was found later. The team continued the search operation to trace other three.
 
The unfortunate incident took place at Atta ghat in Anandpur at around 10 am on Monday while local Khudurukuni puja revelers took out their idols to Baitarani for immersion.  As many as 500 people accompanied at least 30 idols in a procession to the river bank. Some local boys helped the girls to immerse the idols in the swollen river. However, eight boys slipped into the current of water while immersing the idols.
 
On being informed, the fire department official rushed to the spot and swung into action with the help of local people. After two hours of struggle, they managed to trace a body and continued to search other three.
