Bhubaneswar: Heavy rains, accompanied by high speed winds, are likely to lash some parts of Odisha in the next two days due to a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal.
 
The low pressure area is formed over west-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh Coast today, the meteorological centre here said.
 
Under its impact, rain and thundershowers will occur at a few places over Odisha, while there will be heavy rainfall at one or two places over South Odisha during next 48 hours, it said.
 
Surface wind, with speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph and up to 50 kmph, may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, the MeT office said, adding that sea condition will be moderate to rough.
 
Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into sea, it said.
