Cuttack: The High Court today asked the government to explain to the court within April 5 why no first information report was registered in the matter of attacks on the house of one lawyer in Pipili. The court also asked the government to be sensitive in such matters in the future. The court asked the government to submit an action taken report in the matter by April 5. The court also served notices to all those involved in the matter except the local MLA Pradip Maharathi.

About a week ago, one lawyer Nishikant alleged that the local MLA Pradip Maharathi and his supporters hurled bombs at his house. Nishikant alleged that the Pipili SDPO, Inspector In-Charge of Piili police station and the Puri Superintendent of Police did not take any action in the matter despite several complaints.
