Gajapati administration adopts siblings orphaned by cyclone Titli
Gajapati: The Gajapati district administration has decided to adopt a minor boy and a girl who lost their father in cyclone Titli.
As per sources, the minors lost their father Sekhar Sabar a native of Suaba village, in a landslide at Mahendragiri of the district. Sekhar’s body was recovered by Garabandh Police.
As per reports, the siblings had lost their mother years back.
On being informed about the siblings, police official Prashant Bhupati had drawn administration’s attention on the matter.
Later, all necessary arrangements were made for the minors by the district administration with the help of Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
“Our father is no more and the government is providing us assistance. We will study well and become good human beings” said minor girl, Mili Sabar.
The district administration has also assured to provide proper education to the minors.
“The duo will reside at Navjeevan child care institute and the district administration will look after them. All official formalities at Child Welfare Committee (CWC) about their stay have been completed” informed Gajapati Collector, Anupam Saha.
