Bhubaneswar: The SOG jawan’s condition who sustained injuries in a gun battle between security forces and Maoists in Sapamud forest near Khaprakhol of Bolangir district on Sunday is stable, according to doctors.

The jawan, Subrat Kumar Pradhan received bullet injury during the combing operation by CRPF and SOG jawans and undergoing treatment at Burla medical, Sambalpur.

According to reports, the ultras positioned atop Gandhamardan hills exchanged fire with security personnel for nearly two hours in which Pradhan was injured.

The jawan was first admitted to Patnagarh hospital and later shifted to Bolangir hospital on late Sunday night. “We suspect Maoist casualties in the counter attack by the security personnel,” said Bolangir SP.
