CM sanctions 5000 Mo Kudia houses for calamity hit
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sanctioned "Mo Kudia" houses for the families hit by flood, cyclone, coastal erosion and fire accidents in the state, an official said adding each beneficiary would get financial assistance in the range of Rs 45,000 to Rs 48,500.
While 500 Mo Kudia houses had been sanctioned in favour of the fire affected families of Perjung and Kamakshyanagar in Dhenkanal district, 200 Mo kudia houses had been allocated to the families who have lost their houses in fire accident in Boudh district.
Similarly, 500 houses were earmarked for the flood hit families in Sundergarh district and 1500 such houses would solve housing problem of families who lost their residences in maoist hit Narayanpatna block in Koraput district.
The Chief Minister also sanctioned 146 Mo kudia units for the fishermen families who lost their houses due to coastal erosion in Ganjam district. "The state government have reserved 2154 Mo kudia units for the people in distress," the official said.
Mo Kudia is a special scheme launched by the state government from its own resources to cover families left out by the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY).
