Brahmagiri/Puri: There was palpable tension still in village Gambhari under Brahmagiri block in Puri district though the situation was under control. The village witnessed fierce political group clashes on Thursday night. The police today arrested four persons in this connection and recovered 33 live bullets apart from five country-made bombs. Three platoons of policemen were still posted in the trouble torn village to maintain vigil on the situation.

The four arrested persons included Ugrasen Palai, Surath Jena, Bharat Jena and Bamdev Jena. Several women of the village conducted gherao of the police station in protest against the incident. Most of the male members have deserted the village apprehending police action.

The Puri district superintendent of police, Anup Sahu said that peace committee would be formed to bring back normalcy in the village. On the other hand, the district collector Arvind Agarwal said that a survey would be conducted to identify the number of houses damaged and torched during the incident to provide compensations.
